Description

"I don't cause commotions, I am one."
- Elphaba Thropp from Wicked: The Musical

So, in the year and a half since I last posted something a lot has happened. Not terribly relevant though. Key points are, I became obsessed with Wicked and cosplay, (and numerous other things), and from that and my first "formal" foray into modeling came this photoshoot. I came up with the idea for a Wicked Witch boudoir-style photoshoot a little over a month ago, contacted a couple of local photographers I met previously at conventions, booked a hotel room, and this is the result. I couldn't quite decide what category to put this under, since it kind of spans Glamour/Portrait/Pin Up/Cosplay.

It's worth mentioning that only my waist up is painted, and I'm wearing dyed tights for the lower half of my body, because my legs would have done more stain damage/transfer if they were painted, versus my arms which I can be more aware of to avoid transfer. The paint and pigment use to set it are both MAC*, the same cosmetics used for the Broadway show, coupled with Ben Nye's sealing spray to reduce/resist rub off.

*The paint is MAC's Chromacake in "Landscape Green", and the pigment/loose powder is also MAC in "Golden Olive".

*I took the title for this image from a Wizard of Oz magnet of the Margaret Hamilton Wicked Witch that I found and bought at a Hancock's Fabrics store. Conveniently, and after the fact, matches a Galinda/Glinda magnet I got for my friend whom I subject to Glinda-fication. Hers says "Only Bad Witches Are Ugly".
