Description

“She dropped her shyness like a nightgown, and in the liquid glare of sunlight on old boards she held up her hands-as if, in the terror of the upcoming skirmish, she had at last understood that she was beautiful. In her own way.”
- Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire

Photographer: Isidro Urena
Bodypaint Assistant: Angel Jagrup
Makeup, styling/concept, wardrobe, post-processing, and model: Chelsea Johnson [Me]

I came up with the idea for a Wicked Witch boudoir-style photoshoot a little over a month ago, contacted a couple of local photographers I met previously at conventions, booked a hotel room, and this is the result. I couldn't quite decide what category to put this under, since it kind of spans Glamour/Portrait/Pin Up/Cosplay.

It's worth mentioning that only my waist up is painted, and I'm wearing dyed tights for the lower half of my body, because my legs would have done more stain damage/transfer if they were painted, versus my arms which I can be more aware of to avoid transfer. The paint and pigment use to set it are both MAC*, the same cosmetics used for the Broadway show, coupled with Ben Nye's sealing spray to reduce/resist rub off.

*The paint is MAC's Chromacake in "Landscape Green", and the pigment/loose powder is also MAC in "Golden Olive".
